Take a small, single engine, helicopter, you know the type. The one you might pay £20 for that ten minute pleasure trip around the Bay. Now, instead, ask it to carry two men, for two weeks, with a limited number of stops, from California, 6,000 miles across some of the most inhospitable parts of the Arctic Circle and the Atlantic Ocean and deliver them safe and sound in Scotland. You have to ask yourself, 'are these guys mad?'
Charles ('Maverick') and Glenn ('Rhino') will attempt to fly 'Soozy' a Robinson R44 helicopter, which has a normal 'social' range of around 300 miles, over terrain where the only greetings they will encounter, will be from that friendly Polar Bear or the soaring spout from a Moby Dick.
